Dynamic Stretching

What is dynamic stretching?

Dynamic stretching is stretching with movement. Compared to static stretching, where you hold a stretch for a specific amount of time, Dynamic stretching moves through the stretch without holding the stretch position for very long. Dynamic stretching is a great way to warm up before a workout or aid in recovery on rest days.

When should I do dynamic stretching?

Dynamic stretching is a great way to warm up before a workout, aid in recovery on rest days, and improve mobility as a daily routine.

You are a human with a modern lifestyle. Human bodies did not evolve to sit in a car for 2 hours, sit at a desk for 9 hours, and then sit on the couch for 3 hours. Human bodies were built to move. If you don't move through all planes of motion regularly and use your joints to their fullest capacity regularly, your body will restrict that range of motion. “If you don’t use it, you lose it”. So ideally, we would all add dynamic stretching to our daily lives.
